Romans 4:17 says “17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” Call those things which be not as though they were.
The definition of call is to cry out. A synonym of call is to yell. When we are first faced with the challenges of life we are normally true to our emotions. When the boss says “we are laying you off” or they serve you that subpoena for court. Your car is reposed or your spouse tells you that they want a divorce. In that moment we are desperate for real. I have had men tell me that there is no feeling that can compete with the fear, anger, loneliness and depression you feel on the first night of a prison sentence. They say at night you can hear men crying out into the night in desperation. This call or moment of crying out is real. When you call those things that be not as though they are you need to call with this type of passion. This type of desire and most of all with a fervent faith that God will hear your call.
The bible is telling us that we have the ability to call those things that be not as though they are. We have the ability to speak to our circumstances by calling on the power that works in us through the name of Jesus. Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”. Don’t be afraid to open your mouth and “Call It In” with the loud, heartfelt cry of freedom and victory in Christ Jesus. Call and watch how fast your God answers your call.
